NOW: tubular >10 is an LCM except .22 rimfire tube and registered curio/relic feeder. IF CHAPTERED: .44/.44-40 tubes on 50-year-old rifles and modern replicas drop out of §265.00(23), with §400.03 transfer checks still required.
Defender utility
Cite current Penal Law §265.00(23) on an LCM / §265.02 calendar with a lever-action or replica tube-fed .44/.44-40. The live exceptions are the .22-rimfire tube and a registered curio/relic feeder. A replica tube over ten is still an LCM today. This print is not the statute.
Who this is for. NY PDs on LCM calendars with antique or replica tube-fed rifles — pending §265.00(23) carve-out, not present law; not a California charge.
